Pathways from Climate Change to Conflict in U.S. Central Command

Abstract

THIS REPORT PRESENTS an analysis of the relationship between climate change and conflict, and how that relationship is unfolding in the U.S. Central Commands (CENTCOM's) area of responsibility (AOR). First, this report analyzes what existing literature has identified as causal pathways from climate change to conflict. Second, the report details three illustrative case studies of climate-related conflict within CENTCOM.
