Rydberg Interactions for Quantum Information Science

Abstract

We demonstrated Four-Wave-Mixing (FWM) frequency conversion of 795nm photons at atomic wavelength to 1535nm photons at telecom wavelength for transmission in the fiber. This work was done in a warm Rb cell. We achieved conversion efficiency of ~6 . We demonstrated a technique to double number of atoms trapped in the optical dipole trap. We demonstrated electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) using n=57 Rydberg state in optical dipole trapped atoms. One book chapter, 2 conference proceedings.
