VLF Wave-Propagation and Atmospheric-Noise Measurements at Thule, Greenland

Abstract

In the Artic regions, the low and very low radio frequencies may be extremely effective for communication over medium ranges, especially during ionospheric blackouts. The usefulness of these frequency bands is primarily dependent upon reliable information on both radio-wave propagation and atmospheric noise.
