Remote Sensing Support for Urban Search and Rescue: FY23 Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Technical Investment Program

Abstract

In this report, we have conducted an overview of remote sensing support to Urban Search and Rescue (USAR). To do this, we conducted a literature review to understand the state of the art in R and D as applied to this mission space. To further our understanding of the current operational needs and environment, we also conducted numerous qualitative research interviews with subject matter experts in both USAR and remote sensing.
