The Chinese Industrial Base and Military Deployment of Quantum Technology

Abstract

The governments of bot the United States and the People's Republic of China (PRC) consider quantum science and technology to be strategically important for ensuring their respective countries' economic and military leadership. In the United States, quantum science has been a priority area for federal research and development (R and D) for both the previous and current administrations, and the passage of the bipartisan National Quantum Initiative act (Pub. L. 115-368) in 2018 significantly increased U. S. government finding and coordination in this area.
