Design, Synthesis, and Characterization of Phase Change Materials Based on Nanoparticle-doped Block Ionene Polymers

Abstract

The main objective of this coordinated modeling-experimental research project is to study the phase change materials to realize the design and synthesis of the next-generation functional metamaterials with control over their microstructures. The objectives we pursue are: Prepare covalently linked segmented ionene-NP conjugates; Study mechanoresponsive behavior of segmented ionene-NP conjugates on the molecular level; and Correlate mechanistic strain response behavior to changes in macroscopic properties.
