Using Periodic Spatial Disturbance to Manipulate Cooperation in Bacteria

Abstract

The overarching goal of the proposed work was to examine how periodic disturbance to spatial structure of bacterial populations affects cell-cell communication mediated by the exchange of small molecules. Our central hypothesis is that intermediate frequencies of periodic spatial disturbance will alter cooperative cell-cell interactions mediated by the exchange of small molecules.
