Risk of Food Insecurity in the U.S. Military: Definitions, Distributions, and Solutions

Abstract

We use data from the Current Population Survey to identify factors associated with food insecurity in the civilian setting, then use a machine learning model to predict rates of food insecurity using the same characteristics based on administrative pay and personnel records from the Department of Defense.
