The Fate of Aerosol in the Free Troposphere

Abstract

A major challenge in characterizing the fate of aerosol in the free troposphere is the lack of aerosol observations, with very limited vertical information. The goal of this project is to investigate the use of water vapor as a tracer for free tropospheric aerosol injection and transport through quantification of aerosol and water vapor relationships, the drivers of these relationships, and what they tell us about aerosol life cycle through a combination of model and observational evaluations.
