Investigations of Anion Exchange Polymer Interfacial Interactions

Abstract

Major Goals: 1. To fundamentally understand how anion exchange polymers (AEPs) interact with electro-active materials such as conducting carbons and catalytically active metals such as silver or nickel at a thin film interface. 2. To study in detail how block copolymer composition affects interface morphology and overall function to maximize ion conductivity and molecular transport as thin films at flat surfaces or constrained films on catalyst particles.
