Examining U.S. Air Force Spectrum Management in the Continental United States

Abstract

The Department of the Air Forces (DAFs) ability to test, train, and operate in the continental United States (CONUS) is challenged not only by the increasing congestion of the electromagnetic spectrum (EMS) because of reliance on wireless communications and increased demand from the private sector to obtain spectrum but also by limitations of the systems and processes that govern spectrum management tasks in the DAF and in the federal spectrum management agencies with which the DAF must interact.
