Afloat Surface Climate Assessment Survey Year One FY21 Insights
Abstract
As year one of the new Afloat Surface Climate Assessment Survey (ASCAS) and the Operational Safety Risk Indicator (OSRI) program efforts come to an end, two categories of important lessons have emerged. First, the survey results themselves are strong evidence for actions and programs to reduce risk and improve human performance. Second, as resources are finite and problems can be insidious and embedded within complex causal systems, proven strategies for gathering and exploiting information will prove invaluable in supporting sound, data-enabled strategic decision-making.
