Higher Order Compact Implicit Schemes for the Wave Equation,

Abstract

The results of this report are part of an effort to develop high accuracy efficient methods for solving hyperbolic equations. Here an efficient fourth order method for the multi-dimensional wave equation is presented. Similar techniques are being tried to solve first order hyperbolic systems for application to inviscid flow calculations.
