A Special Purpose Computer for Modeling an Adaptive Dynamic Neuron Net,

Abstract

One of the distinguishing characteristics of biological neuron nets is their dynamicity. The dynamic character of the perception of incoming information appears most clearly in the analysis of auditory images. However, even responses like visual images which are statistical in nature, are transformed in the process of perception into a dynamic form and are processed in this form in the neuron nets of the visual system of the brain. Following these conceptions it is possible to construct more or less complex physical models of neuron nets. The authors decided to construct a model in the form of a special-purpose digital computer (SPDC). This structure was chosen to combine to the greatest possible degree the advantages of physical and informational models.
