Electrical Conductivity of Explosives During the Initiation of Detonation by Shock Waves,
Abstract
Changes in electrical conductivity in and behind shock waves during detonation of TNT and tetryl charges were studied. It was found that conductivity changes do occur behind the shock front in TNT, but not noticeably in tetryl. A possible explanation of this is the presence of solid carbon in TNT decomposition products, while there apparently is no such accumulation in tetryl. Further research is required.
