Combustion of Mixtures of Magnesium with Light Metal Carbonates,

Abstract

Experimentally obtained thermochemical data and combustion product composition of mixtures of magnesium with Li, Na, K, Mg and Ca carbonates, as well as with solid CO2, are presented. Data on combustion rates at various pressures also are presented. Combustion rates vs. pressure and combustion product composition apparently are determined by the thermal stability of the carbonates used.
