Use of Corrosion Inhibitors in the Production of Packing Paper for Protection of Metal Parts

Abstract

The possibility of producing a single-layer anticorrosion wrapping paper for metal parts, by means of addition of various kinds of additives to the paraffinning compound, was investigated. Effective protection from atmospheric corrosion of ferrous and nonferrous metal parts, by means of paraffinned wrapping paper containing corrosion inhibitors, was demonstrated. Formulas for the protective layer of paraffinned wrapping papers for metal parts were presented. It was found that wrapping metal parts with inhibitor paper and then paraffinned paper increases the corrosion resistance of the paper to a negligible extent in the majority of cases.
