Explosive Ray-Solutions of Nonlinear Wave-Wave Interacting Systems,

Abstract

Sufficient conditions for the existence of ray solutions of nonlinear wave-wave interacting systems are established. It is shown that along these solutions, the phases of the waves are time-invariant and the wave-energy transfer is always unidirectional or irreversible. Also, under certain conditions, the ray solutions are explosive. The applications of the main results to specific forms of two-wave and three-wave nonlinear interacting systems are discussed.
