Abstract
The report notes how scientifically based prognoses for national economic progress promote the best use of materials and resources of labor, an increase in efficiency of scientific research, a rise in production output, improvement in its quality, an increase in profitability of production. The efficiency of organization of development of a prognosis must depend a great deal on accuracy in the job of working it out.
