Experimental Determination of Velocity Characteristics of Pulsed Erosion Accelerator,

Abstract

In pulsed plasma accelerators in which the dielectric is eroded a distributed discharge may develop under certain conditions, and the accelerated plasma formation will be the plasma stream which is dischrged from the accelerator. Energy characteristics studies are in this case insufficient. There must be additional studies on the velocity characteristics of the stream - time distribution of velocities in stream and aperture angle of stream. Experimental studies were performed on a pulsed erosion plasma accelerating model with coaxial geometry.
