Improved UHF Multi-Antenna System for Air-Traffic Control Centrals.

Abstract

An improved low-cost dual UHF antenna system for air-traffic control was developed which permits simultaneous transmission and reception with little or no crosstalk. Electrical interaction of the antennas is minimized by mounting them collinearly and by incorporating special transmission line decouplers (isolators) to suppress feedline current. Broadband impedance compensators provide satisfactory impedance matching. The reduction in shadowing leads to improved horizontal plane radiation patterns. (Author)
