The Problem of Hill for Systems.

Abstract

A new method is presented for finding the characteristic exponents and the Floquet equivalent constant system for periodic linear Hamiltonian systems. This method is based on a detailed study of the phase portrait of periodic Riccati differential equations as well as the study of the stability of solutions of periodic Riccati differential equations subject to algebraic constraints. Questions of structural stability are also considered. (Author)
