Low Energy X-Ray and Electron Physics for Materials Analysis.

Abstract

The program of this grant period has been directed to research, independent and collaborative in the application of low energy x-ray and electron physics to the following areas: (1) surface state, molecular and solid state analysis by ultrasoft x-ray spectroscopy; (2) development of methods for quantitative photoelectron spectroscopic analysis for surface structure and chemistry; and (3) the development of techniques for high temperature plasma diagnostics by low energy x-ray spectroscopy. Activities, some results, and techniques and equipment are briefly described. (Modified author abstract)
