Simultaneous Adjustment of Terrestrial Geodimeter and Satellite Doppler Observations for Geodetic Datum Definition.

Abstract

Experimental combinations of geodetic data based on terrestrial geodimeter surveys and Doppler satellite surveys, as reported by Meade of the National Geodetic Survey, were made to explore the degree of consistency of the data. Geodetic positions which best fit the satellite and terrestrial data gave residuals in Doppler positions of 61, 53, and 83 cm in latitude, longitude, and height, and terrestrial residuals of .35 ppm (or 19 cm), .38(double prime), and .21(double prime) in distance, azimuth and elevation.
