Computer Aided Design for Dual-Mode CFA.

Abstract

This is the second tri-annual report of a computer aided research project to aid in the development of versatile dual operating-mode crossed field amplifiers. Dual mode design problems are discussed and results of initial studies of dual mode operation are presented. The rf model equations are presented in a form closely resembling that used by the computer program. The computer program for the rf model is complete and progress on checking and verification is briefly discussed as well as the progress on the gun program. Results from a preliminary investigation of the feasibility of a three-dimensional study are reported. Finally, the program effort for the last report period is presented. (Author)
