A Study of Optical Excitation by Highly Monochromatic Tunable Dye Lasers.

Abstract

Several aspects of optical excitation by highly monochromatic tunable dye lasers have been investigated, including the development of a narrowband repetitively pulsed dye laser system, the study of Na2 molecules by high resolution saturation spectroscopy, the detection of weak absorption spectra by intracavity quenching of broadband dye laser oscillations, the observation of line broadening by optical nutation in pulsed laser saturation spectroscopy, and the study of two-photon absorption of highly excited Cs states.
