Military Food Ration Study.

Abstract

The paper discusses the need for altering the legal basis of the military food ration system. It is argued that any changes should not be undertaken without additional research into the objectives of the ration system and alternative methods of attaining the objectives. The paper contains a description of the current food ration budgeting procedures as well as a theoretical discussion of the implications of replacing the free mess with monetary grants and a discussion of methods of providing incentives for more efficient operation.
