TACAN/DME Ground Navigational Equipment Design Plan.
Abstract
The design plan sets forth those modifications to the Type AN-GRN-9 ( ), RTB-2 and DTD transponders and type RTC-1, RTC-2 and RTC-3 test, monitor and control (TMC) equipments to: (1) improve transponder response to interrogation signals, (2) minimize false distance information, (3) provide for operation on RF channels ending in the suffix 'Y' and (4) provide increase DME Traffic loading capacity. The respective modifications are described in the form of individual modification kits to be applied selectively to specific type transponder and TMC equipment as identified.
