Field Fluctuations of a Laser Beam Propagating in a Turbulent Atmosphere,

Abstract

Using the approximating method of smooth perturbations, the variance, correlation, and structural functions of the fluctuations of the logarithm of the amplitude and phase of a laser beam propagating in a turbulent atmosphere were analyzed numerically as a function of the dimensions of the emitting aperture, the focussing radiation conditions, and the coordinates of the observation points in the plane perpendicular to the beam axis.
