Illumination and Route Marking for Night Operations,

Abstract

The use of route indicators and lights for demarcating and illuminating roads and work areas for night emergency operations are discussed. Standards for the illumination of different objectives are given and electric power requirements for various lighting levels of a given area are shown graphically. Various types of route indicators are shown and the capacities of some standard lighting units with the associated diesel or gas operated generators are also tabulated.
