Determination of Level Sensitivity (Field Calibration with the Level on the Instrument)

Abstract

A method is considered for determining level sensitivity without removing the level from the instrument. This has application for the hanging level and Horrebow-Talcott levels of the T-4 Wild Theodolite, the Zenith Wanschaff Telescope, and similar instruments. By rotating the instrument in an inclined plane which is set in advance, the inclination angle varies as a function of the azimuths.
