The Role of Photoemission in the Mechanism of Discharge from a Hollow Cathode,

Abstract

The paper investigates the voltage of firing and some characteristics of the discharge glowing in helium with a cylindrical hollow cathode in the magnetic field. The role of photoemission from the cathode in the discharge process is discussed on the basis of comparing the influence of the magnetic field on the electric and optical discharge characteristics.
