Multiple Round Hit Probabilities Associated with Combat Vehicle Fire Control Gun Systems

Abstract

The report describes a method for evaluating the hit probability associated with multiple round or burst fire weapons when used on combat vehicles against ground targets. The problem of correlation between consecutive bursts is also addressed and some hit probability expressions are derived. Tables and curves for representative calculations are presented in an Appendix.
