Intermodulation Products of a UHF Diplexer.

Abstract

The report describes a two-month effort to investigate spurious intermodulation noise problems generated by various UHF transmitting channels planned for the FLTSATCOM satellite. The prime consideration was to design and build a diplexer with minimum intermodulation products and to measure the third-order intermodulation level. The design goal was to hold the third-order intermodulation below -145 dBm when two transmitters deliver 30 watts to the diplexer. A level below -125 dBm was actually achieved in the time available.
