Ray Tracing Theory for Alignment Systems.
Abstract
This report contains a basic theory and methods for analyzing gimballed optical systems. The power of the theory and methods presented herein lie not so much with the exact ray tracing method, of which there are many already in existence, but with the first order approximations. To facilitate the use of this first order theory Piogram equivalents and block diagram representations of various basic optical components are included. Thus, this report should serve as a reference for analyzing gimballed optical systems.
