A Combined Numerical and Experimental Investigation of the Effects of Buried Explosive Charges

Abstract

The two-dimensional HELP computer code has been modified to solve the interaction between buried explosive charges and simple structures located above ground level. Three calculations were performed and the results compared favorably with results from a concurrent test program. Dynamic material properties experiments were performed to provide the necessary soil equation of state parameters which are required as input to the numerical model.
