AESD Sound-Speed Profile Retrieval System (RSVP).
Abstract
This report discusses the current AESD system for retrieval of sound-speed profile information necessary for acoustic and environmental modeling. The retrieval system, identified as RSVP, provides selected sound-speed profiles, descriptions of data distributions, statistical summaries, and vertical and horizontal sound speed characteristics, including layer depth, subsurface maxima, deep sound channel axis and critical depth, for any ocean area. Options for month, year and depth limits are included.
