The Role of Science in Soviet Society: An analysis of the Academy of Science of the U.S.S.R.
Abstract
The study examines the organization of scientific inquiry in the Soviet Union and the social role of Soviet science and men of knowledge. History and internal organization of the Academy of Sciences are discussed. The author analyzes the Academy's 'basic' task: the advancement of systematic and differentiated knowledge and the systematizing of scientific theory. The planning of scientific research is a top priority in the Academy's work.
