VUV Photoelectron Emission Spectroscopy of Liquid Systems.
Abstract
Feasibility and potential usefulness of studying photoelectron emission by pure liquids or solutions in the vacuum ultraviolet range are demonstrated by means of relatively simple equipment. Experimental results include: quantum yield spectral response curves for ferrocyanide, iodide and bromide ions; energy distribution curves for ferrocyanide. The photoionization spectrum of ferrocyanide in solution is determined and interpreted in terms of bound-continuum transitions and autoionization of excited bound states.
