Controlled Tests for Performance Evaluation,
Abstract
Hardware configuration of a computer system must be accompanied by evaluation of its effects on each category of users to ensure good performance. Combined on-line/batch loads pose a problem since several measures must be employed. Accounting data, artificial stimulation, proper experimental design and adequate planning can aid analysts derive quantitative, provable conclusions in this difficult load environment.
