Holographic Acoustic Imaging.

Abstract

An overview of acoustic imaging methods is presented highlighting the similarities and differences between focused, beamformed, and holographic systems. A holographic acoustic imaging system designed for medium range viewing in the deep ocean is described. Several technological improvements for future holographic systems are suggested and discussed.
