Oceanography in the Gulf of Maine and Adjacent Waters in Support of the International Commission for Northwest Atlantic Fisheries January 1968; January-February 1969.

Abstract

The physical oceanography of the Gulf of Maine and adjacent waters in January 1968 and January - February 1969 is described. Temperature, salinity, and density data are presented in surface contours and profiles. Dissolved oxygen and chlorophyll data are presented in section profiles. Climatic conditions of the region were reflected in the temperature and salinity of the surface waters. Intrusion of Gulf Stream waters into the Gulf of Maine is inferred from T-S relations and disolved oxygen data.
