Analysis of Atmospheric Electric Fields and Air Conductivity.

Abstract

This report describes design and construction of a wing mountable, atmospheric conductivity and electric field measuring pod for an RB57 F aircraft; modification of a design for wing mountable electric field measuring pod for a C-130 aircraft; generation of a computer software package for analysis of atmospheric electricity data; design and construction of a miniaturized electric field sensing system for airborne use; design and fabrication of an air droppable, lightning discharge instigator; and the design and critiquing of a near real time atmospheric electricity measuring and analysis system.
