A Contactless Switch for Hyperbaric Research Use.

Abstract

The testing of a contactless switch for research use in a hyperbaric chamber is described and the results are reported. The switch was tested at pressures from surface to 1,600 psi at approximately 750F in a 100% helium atmosphere. The switch tested was judged safe as a subject response switch. In its 'chip' form the switch would be suitable for both limit and control switches; its limitations are a low current switching ability and the need for an external power supply.
