NO,NO2 and HNO3 Below 35 KM in the Atmosphere.

Abstract

Experimental data on NO, NO2 and HNO3 in the atmosphere are reviewed. The low abundance of nitric acid in the tropospheric gas phase is emphasized as well as the high variability of NOx in the low stratosphere and in the troposphere. Some model predicted distributions of these odd nitrogen molecules are presented. Areas of agreement and of disagreement between theory and experiments are indicated.
