Primary Irritation Evaluation of Candidate Insect Repellents.

Abstract

Proprietary compounds, 8124-67-2, 8124-73-2 and 10163-8, candidate insect repellents proposed for use by the Army, were evaluated on New Zealand White rabbits for their potential to cause skin and eye irritation. The data obtained serve as a basis for making a recommendation concerning their potential use on humans. This recommendation is intended only for guidance in further entomological testing of these compounds.
