Impact of Turbine Modulation on Variable-Cycle Engine Performance. Phase III. Engine Modification and Sea Level Test. Part II.

Abstract

An AiResearch Model TFE731-2 Turbofan Engine was modified to incorporate production-type variable-geometry hardware and tested to determine the effects of turbine modulation at both sea-level static and simulated high-altitude flight conditions at subsonic and supersonic flight Mach numbers.
