The Guerrilla Strategies of Mao and Lawrence - A Comparison.

Abstract

T. E. Lawrence and Mao Tse-Tung were both successful leaders of guerrilla movements. Their guerrilla strategies are discussed and compared, and their similarities and dissimilarities are identified. Using as principal sources the writings of Mao Tse-Tung and T. E. Lawrence, a review was conducted in order to compare their strategies. It was noted that within similar factors of age and experience and dissimilar parameters of environment, education, and culture, closely identical strategies for the achievement of their separate objectives were developed.
