Annual Report of the Metals and Ceramics Information Center.

Abstract

The Metals and Ceramics Information Center (MCIC) is one of several technical information analysis centers (IACs) chartered and sponsored by the Department of Defense. Its objective is the provision of authoritative information, data and advice on the advanced metals and ceramics, in support of the systems development programs of the military agencies. Through recent relaxation of access policy, these same resources also now are available to the technical community at large. This is the third annual report on the MCIC program, covering activities from 1 August 1973 through 31 Jul 1974 -- essentially the Fiscal Year 1974. During this contract period, substantial advances were made in expanding the user community, as well as improvements in the management of the information base. The MCIC computerized files were increased by addition of 3205 references, 289 technical inquiries were received (146 processed), one new MCIC Handbook and a major supplement to an existing handbook were issued.
