Improved Dual Output EBS Switch.
Abstract
The modulator switch diodes and their bonding were tested for damage at the temperatures at which the completed tubes are processed. It was found that considerable damage occurs to both the front surface of the diode and to the bonding between the diode and the substrate when they are exposed to temperatures above 350 degrees C. Environmental testing of the performance of the modulator switch under both vibration and temperature conditions of MIL-E-16400 and MIL-E-5400N was performed. These tests indicate that the tubes should have no problems meeting the environmental requirements.
